Privacy Policy

SameNot ("we", "us", "our") operates the SameNot website and app (samenot.com), including our AI companion Sage. This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.

1. Information We Collect

When you use SameNot, we collect:

• Account information: your name, email address, and password (stored securely as an encrypted hash — we never store your actual password in readable form).
• Style memories: photos of your outfits, descriptions of what you wore (tops, bottoms, shoes, accessories, etc.), the date and occasion, who you were with (names you enter), where you were, how you felt, and any notes you add.
• Profile information: an optional profile photo, and your city (used to show local weather in your Morning Brief).
• Voice input: if you use a voice feature (like describing an outfit or telling Sage your plans), your spoken words are converted to text and processed to extract the relevant details. We do not permanently store audio recordings.
• Style Night information: if you create or join a Style Night event, we store the event details, guest names, submitted looks, and any chat messages sent within that event.
• Payment information: if you subscribe to Sage Plus, your payment is processed by Stripe, a third-party payment provider. We do not store your full card details ourselves — Stripe handles this securely on our behalf.
• Usage information: basic activity data such as when you last used the app and your Sage Credit usage, so we can operate the credit system fairly.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Provide the core SameNot experience — storing your Style Memories and letting Sage recall them for you.
• Power Sage's AI features, such as Ask Sage, outfit tagging, Morning Brief suggestions, and the Shopping Assistant. To do this, relevant text and photos are sent to OpenAI (our AI processing partner) to generate a response. OpenAI processes this data to return an answer but does not use it to train their models under our arrangement with them.
• Send you emails — such as a welcome sequence when you join, and (if enabled) notifications about insights, Style Night updates, or your Morning Brief. You can turn most of these off in your Preferences.
• Show you local weather in your Morning Brief, using your city with a weather data provider (OpenWeatherMap).
• Process payments and manage your subscription, via Stripe.
• Maintain the security of your account, including password reset requests.

3. Who We Share Information With

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with the service providers who help us run SameNot, specifically:

• OpenAI — to power Sage's AI responses, as described above.
• Stripe — to process subscription payments securely.
• Our email provider — to deliver account and notification emails.
• OpenWeatherMap — to retrieve local weather for your Morning Brief.
• Our hosting provider — where our servers and database are physically hosted.

If you create a Style Night and invite friends, the details you enter (event name, location, dress code) and any looks or messages guests submit are visible to you and to other people you've invited to that specific event.

4. Data Storage & Security

Your information is stored in our secure database. Passwords are encrypted (hashed) and cannot be viewed by us in plain text. We take reasonable technical measures to protect your data, but no online service can guarantee absolute security.

5. Your Choices & Rights

• You can edit or delete individual Style Memories at any time within the app.
• You can update your profile, preferences, and notification settings at any time.
• You can request that we delete your account and associated personal data by contacting us at the email below.
• You can unsubscribe from marketing/notification emails via your Preferences, or using the link in any email we send.

6. Children's Privacy

SameNot is not intended for children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under this age.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time as SameNot grows. We'll update the date at the top of this page when we do. Continued use of SameNot after changes means you accept the updated policy.
